Attorney Todd Haugan of Wayzata, MN; thief, repeat offender

The state of Minnesota presented Todd R. Haugan with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the William Mitchell Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Todd guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Todd found it acceptable to improperly pocket a client’s $25,000
settlement, which the client agreed to have credited to the fees he owed the firm Todd was employed
by at the time. Of course Todd concealed this fact from members of the firm.

Subsequently, Todd persuaded the firm to write off the $25,000 in fees the client owed as
uncollectable. When the firm found out what Todd did, they successfully sued him in court
to collect what he had stolen.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Todd’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree.
He previously received two (2) separate admonishments for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Martin by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Todd practices at 746 Mill Street in Wayzata, Minnesota.
