Attorney Alan Jontz of St. Paul; tax cheat, serial offender

 

The state of Minnesota presented Alan G. Jontz with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the William Mitchell Law School.

 

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Alan guilty of the following misconduct.

Alan’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Neglected a probate matter
  • Filed an erroneous final account
  • Failed to promptly deposit money into a trust account
  • Attempted to charge an excessive fee (cheater)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary warning.

  • Failed to maintain proper books and records

  • Failed to timely pay a law related invoice

Alan’s 7th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Failed to pay law-related debts
  • Lied to ethics office that he paid law-related debts

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Alan by gifting him by placing him on private probation.

Alan’s 8th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Failed to timely file federal income tax returns for three years
  • Failed to file federal employer withholding returns for 15 quarters
  • Faield to timely pay taxes due on federal employer withholding taxes for 17 quarters
  • Failed to timely file state income tax returns for four years

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary 12-month suspension of his law license.
