Attorney Robert Rooney Jr. of Chicago; thief, repeater offender

 

The state of Illinois presented Robert W. Rooney Jr. with a law license in 1969. He also obtained a law license from Iowa in 1977.

 

The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Bobby’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2003

 

Bobby was of failing to timely file employer’s state tax returns and not remitting withholding taxes which he deducted from employee paychecks.

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary censure of his law license.

 

Bobby’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2009

 

In one matter, Bobby converted (stole) approximately $49,000 from a personal injury settlement that he had negotiated on behalf of clients (victims).

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

 

Bobby’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2012

 

Bobby failed promptly distribute funds that he had been holding on behalf of an estate, neglecting to determine whether there was a lien on the money.

 

In addition, Bobby neglected a probate case by failing to file a final order of discharge, resulting in the case being stricken from the court call.

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 90- day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Bobby practices with the Law Office of Robert W. Rooney Jr. at 10606 South St. Louis Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
