Attorney Ann Donovan of Fayetteville, AR; serial offender

 

The state of Arkansas presented Ann Cecellia Donovan with a law license in 1978 after she

graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.

 

The Committee on Professional Conduct Panel B found Clarence guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Annie’s 14th bite at the Misfit Apple Tree 2010

  • Failed to promptly return funds to lawful owner
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Faield to properly identify client property
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed as to status of legal matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

Annie’s 13th bite at the Misfit Apple Tree 2008

  1. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  2. Failed to correct materially false fact included in client’s bankruptcy filing
  3. Repeatedly failed to respond to client phone calls
  4. Failed to keep client reasonably informed as to status of legal matter
  5. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  6. Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  7. Ordered to pay restitution of $14,000 to client

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Annie by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

Annie’s 12th bite at the Misfit Apple Tree 2005

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Knowingly disobeyed court rules
  • Failed to explain matter to extent for client to make informed decisions re: representation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Annie by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.

Annie’s 11th bite at the Misfit Apple Tree 2004

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Comingled client funds with personal funds
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interest after discharge
  • Failed to safeguard client funds

In addition to the above four (4) findings of misconduct, Annie also received three (3) additional complimentary reprimands and seven (7) complimentary cautions.

 

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Annie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (February 2014), Annie practices at 2816 Meadowlark Drive in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
