► Justice Seamus McCaffery of Pennsylvania; ethical ogre

The state of Pennsylvania presented a law license to Seamus P. McCaffery in 1989 after he graduated from Temple University Law School.

Justice McCaffery has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for over forty (40) years. It is apparent that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Philadelphia area was about to offer this loser a good paying job.

In 2007, Seamus duped the voters in Pennsylvania into electing him as a Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Seamus is a firm believer in “Family Values,” which led him to engage in a little family nepotism by hiring his wife Lise Rapaport as his top judicial aide. Seamus’ nepotism is being investigated by the local U.S. Attorney’s Office.

A federal grand jury has served subpoenas on numerous law firms, seeking detailed information about referral fees that were paid to Rapaport.

The FBI is also scrutinizing complaints that Justice McCaffery leveled in 2012 against about a Superior Court judge. Seamus contacted a top court administrator to register objections about the judge, who had been hearing cases brought by a Philadelphia law firm that had been a source of referral income for McCaffery's wife and a source of campaign donations for him. Since becoming Seamus’ chief judicial aide, Lise has received tens-of-thousands in referral fees from at nine or more law firms. In one matter, she received a referral fee of $821,000.

In addition to the referral fees paid to Seamus’ wife Lise, the same law firms also made significant contributions to Seamus’ election campaigns.

Hopefully, this Certified Loser will be forced to remove himself from the bench before he further disgraces the court. And if he’s criminally charged and convicted, the state should revoke his pension.
