Virgina State Sen. Thomas Garrett “Screwball” Award Winner

In November 2011, Tommy succeeded in duping the voters into electing him as a member of the Virginia State Senate.

As is the case with many legislators, Tommy is a lawyer who learned how to spew forth half-truths and/or outright lies while attending the University of Richmond Law School.

Recently (01/08/13), Screwy Tommy introduced legislation in the Virginia Senate to amend and reenact the Code of Virginia, relating to crimes against nature. In short, Tommy wants to re-criminalize oral and anal sex; however, he wants to limit it to teenagers only.

Tommy is proud to anoint himself as a Ken Cuccinelli Conservative. This is akin to proudly announcing that you’re a Gov. George Wallace Civil Rights Conservative.

Of course Tommy is well aware that the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal by his mentor, former Virginia Attorney General Cuccinelli to re-establish the ban on oral and anal sex in his state. The law had previously been declared unconstitutional by the 4^th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Apparently, Tommy the Dumbo opted to not take any courses in Constitutional Law when he attended law school in Richmond.

Screwy Tommy is hoping to circumvent the Supreme Court’s ruling by applying his no oral or anal sex law only to non-adults and making it a felony for doing so.  Tommy’s asinine bill goes so far as to make it a felony if a married couple aged 16 to 17 engaged in such conduct despite the fact that it is legal for 16-year-olds to legally marry with the consent of their parents.

It might be quite useful if someone in the Virginia legislature proposed legislation banning unprotected sex between Screwballs, Morons and/or Lunatics like Tommy. At a minimum this would likely increase the overall statewide average I.Q. by 20 or more points.

It is indeed unfortunate that the good citizens of Virginia are being made to foot the bill that allows a Screwy A-hole like Tommy to put forth legislation that is unconstitutional on its face.

Congrats Tommy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Understood “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
