Attorney Janese Baliles of Asheville, NC; ethical dwarf

The state of North Carolina presented Janese M. Baliles with a law license in 1982 after she graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Janese guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to obtain title insurance in 132 closings
  • Failed to promptly pay or deliver funds/property to third persons as directed by multiple clients
As a consequence of her misconduct the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Janese by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Janese.

As we speak (ca. January 2014) Janese practices at 206 East Chestnut Street in Asheville, North Carolina.
