Attorney John Akins of Raleigh; ethical misfit

The state of North Carolina presented John Waverly Akins with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from New England School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Failed to maintain proper balance in trust account
  • Failed to perform required trust account reconciliations
  • Incurred bank charges for over-disbursements in trust account
As a consequence of his misconduct the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2014) Johnny is employed by Wake County Public Defender’s Office at 300 South Salisbury Street in Raleigh, North Carolina.
