Attorney Stephen Fromang of Vero Beach; repeat offender, Dumbo

The state of Florida provided Stephen Douglas Fromang in 1976 after he graduated from the Cornell University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Stephen guilty of misconduct on at least two separate occasions as set forth below.

1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Stephen failed to appear for a scheduled sentencing hearing before Judge Dan. L. Vaughn on behalf of his client Peter Osborne. Judge Vaughn issued a bench warrant for Stephen’s arrest.

Subsequently, Judge Vaughn found Stephen guilty of direct criminal contempt.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Stephen by gifting him with a complimentary two year period of probation.

2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  • Failed to abide by client’s decisions re: objectives of representation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
In one matter, Stephen was hired to represent Archie Hills on felony charges of sexual battery on a child under 12 and lewd or lascivious molestation of a child. Stephen represented Hills at his criminal trial. However, when the case was appealed, the Appeals Court ruled that Stephen’s failure to provide Hills with competent representation was “apparent on the face of the record.” The court then reversed Hills’ convicted because Stephen’s “performance was so clearly deficient” and “so serious” that it affected the outcome of Hills’ trial.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Stephen by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2013) Stephen practices at 1620 20th Street in Vero Beach,, Florida.
