Attorney John Haynes of Elyria, OH; ethical dwarf

The state of Ohio presented John Stanley Haynes with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from Ohio State University Law School.

The Lorain County Bar Association found John guilty of the following misconduct

In one matter, John was hired to represent a client to modify a visitation order because the client’s wife had moved to Michigan with their child. The client then paid Johnny several hundred dollars to represent him in the matter.

Johnny then prepared the necessary papers and filed them with the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas. Subsequently, the ex-wife’s attorney, Margaret Kelly sent Johnny a proposed settlement offer; however, Johnny never responded to it.

On numerous occasions, Johnny failed to respond to his client’s requests for updates on how the matter was proceeding. Subsequently, the client fired Johnny and demanded a refund of his retainer, which he refused to do.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished John by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2013), John practices with John S. Haynes, LLC at 134 Middle Avenue in Elyria, Ohio.
