Attorney Howard Peters IV of Springfield, IL; ethical gremlin

The state of Illinois presented Howard A. Peters IV with a law license in 2001.

The Disciplinary Commission found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

Pete found it acceptable to convert (steal) legal fees from his former law firm. He also failed to promptly refund unearned fees (cheater) to a client (victim).

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2013) Pete practices with the Springfield Urban League, Inc. at 100 North 11th Street in Springfield, Illinois.

Warning: Pete does not carry legal malpractice insurance
