Attorney Jonathan Lack of Indialantic, FL; ethical gremlin
The state of Florida presented Jonathan Douglas Lack with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Florida Law School.
The Florida State Bar found Jonathan guilty of the following misconduct.
Jonathan represented Jonathan White in several matters over a three year period of time. During this time, Jonathan borrowed $211,000 from Mr. White. Jonathan used the funds to purchase a condominium unit in the Melbourne Beach area. Mr. White held the mortgage on the unit.
Jonathan authored the mortgage and notes without advising Mr. White to seek outside counsel. Subsequently, Jonathan failed to pay the property taxes on the condo unit and failed to pay the condo assessment and association fees which subjected the property to foreclosure proceedings.
Mr. White learned of Jonathan’s failure to pay condo taxes and fees when he was personally served with papers regarding the tax deed. Jonathan ultimately failed to make the payments on the $211,000 note.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits in Florida sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Jonathan by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. October 2013) Jonathan practices with Lack and Lack Chartered at 909 South Miramar Avenue in Indialantic, Florida.
