Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL): Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL)

Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

In November 2010, Rick succeeded in duping the voters of Florida into electing him Governor despite the fact that his company was found guilty of defrauding the federal government out of tens-of-millions of dollars in Medicare payments.

In an ongoing attempt to cement his status as one of America’s Premier Morons, Ricky previously issued an executive order requiring Florida’s 85,000 state workers to undergo drug testing. Subsequently, the order was ruled to be unconstitutional by Federal Judge Ursula Ungara. In her ruling, Judge Ungara said Ricky’s order violated the 4th Amendment, which protects against unreasonable searches. She went on to say that Ricky has “probably about zero” chance of winning a Supreme Court case on the issue.

Ricky then appealed to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal that later ruled that some workers could legitimately be tested such as those in law enforcement and/or sensitive safety jobs. Based on that ruling, Judge Ungara went about appointing a special master to come up with a proposed list of those positions. She then set a hearing for Oct 11, 2013, saying she has “no desire to see the citizens of the state of Florida exposed to any more expense.”

Unlike Judge Ungara, Ricky’s response to exposing Floridians to the waste of their hard earned money is: “Frankly my dear [Ungara], I don’t give a damn.”

Of course Ricky’s unconstitutional order didn’t require him or members of the judiciary or legislature to undergo drug testing.

Congrats Ricky; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Understood “Morons”; you are far too humble.
