Attorney Alan O’Neal of Wilmington, DE; ethical elf

The state of Delaware presented Alan L. O’Neal with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Widener University Law School.

The Delaware Supreme Court found Alan guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep clients reasonably informed of status of legal matter
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to keep proper bookkeeping accounts of client trust funds
  • Charged a clearly unreasonable fee (cheater)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Alan’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary private admonition and a complimentary reprimand.

As a consequence of his most recent misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Alan continues to practice in the Wilmington, Delaware area.
