Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

In November 2008, Phil succeeded in duping the voters in the northeastern portion of Tennessee into electing to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Recently (Sept 2013), Screwy Phil introduced legislation in the House that would amend the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to prohibit law-income Americans (wink, wink) from purchasing what Phil determined to be unhealthy food.

This is the same Screwball that previously opposed the public health initiatives under Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign, which was aimed at lessening childhood obesity by educating children to eat healthy foods.

Screwy Phil’s demand that he control how low-income Americans shop for groceries, he has never championed public health initiatives that would apply to everyone regardless of their economic status. When the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) recently overhauled school lunch standards to encourage children to eat healthier cafeteria food, Phil claimed it represented an “overreach of government” that forced students to go hungry.”

As you can see, in addition to being a Certified Screwball, Phil is also a flip-flopping hypocrite who seems to believe that he, and only he has a god-given right to dictate the eating habits of those (wink, wink) folks who are unfortunately forced to supplement their caloric intake via the use of food stamps.

Congrats Phil; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
