Barry Smitherman (R-TX): Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Barry Smitherman (R-SC)

Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

In 2011, fellow Screwball, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Barry to the Texas Railroad Commission. In early 2013, Barry announced his candidacy to succeed Greg Abbot at Attorney General of Texas in the Republican primary election to be held on March 4, 2014 due to the fact that Abbott will be running for governor.

In an attempt to prove that he’s even more of a Nutcase then Gov. Perry on abortion, Barry recently appeared before the Texas Alliance for Life to deliver a speech that centered on his opposition to China’s abortion practices. Does anybody in China really give a damn what Screwy Barry thinks about anything?

Screwy Barry went on to laughingly claim that abortion rates in the U.S. have hurt the American economy.

Barry then said that abortion caused a loss of 80 million Americans, which has impacted the economy.

This asinine statement proves that in addition to being a Certified Screwball, that Barry is also a Moron. With at least 18 million people unemployed as we speak, Barry’s moronic comment would mean the unemployment rate would be over 100 million.

The Screwball then went on to say:

“At a time when our federal debit is almost $17 trillion, having another 82.5 million people, hitting their stride in the work force, would help to reduce per capita debt obligations, but most likely would also produce meaningful addition GDP (Gross Domestic Product) to propel our economy and I bet they would vote Republican.”

Given the fact that the majority of abortions involve low income and/or minority women, any suggestion that most of them would vote Republican doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test.

Congrats Barry; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Accomplished “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
