Attorney Gregory Hinton of Fairmont, WV; ethical dwarf

The state of West Virginia presented Gregory T. Hinton with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia Law School.

The Lawyer Disciplinary Board found Gregory guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Gregory represented Mr. Henderson in a real estate matter wherein Henderson agreed to sell a piece of property for $55,000 to Kenneth and Betty Jean Sutphin.

The purchase and sale agreement prepared by Gregory called on the Sutphin’s to make a down payment of $2,000 with the balance to be paid over 20 years at 9% interest.

As part of his representation of Mr. Henderson, Gregory was required to prepare the Note and Deed of Trust; however, he didn’t prepare either of them. Subsequently Kenneth and Betty Jean defaulted on the loan. It was then that Mr. Henderson finally learned t hat Gregory had failed to prepare the Note and Deed of Trust.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the West Virginia Supreme Court punished Gregory by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
