Attorney Leslie Leavoy, Jr. of Deridder, LA; ethical gremlin

The state of Louisiana presented Leslie R. Leavoy, Jr. with a law license in 1979

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Leslie guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to communicate with clients
  3. Failed to protect client’s interest after being discharged
  4. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  5. Committed criminal adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  6. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Leslie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Leslie.

As we speak (ca) August 2013) Leslie practices with the Leavoy Law Firm at 125 North Washington Street in Deridder, Louisiana.
