Attorney Brenden Miller of Jonesboro, GA; ethical misfit

The state of Georgia presented Brenden E. Miller with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School.

The Georgia State Bar found Brenden guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Brendan filed a bankruptcy petition on behalf of a client. After the petition was dismissed for the client’s failure to maintain payments to the Trustee, Brenden filed a second petition.

Subsequently, the client sent Brenden a copy of a foreclosure notice. The notice stated that the property would be subject to foreclosure in 60 to 90 days from the date of the letter. After learning that the lender had rejected the client’s payment, Brenden did not make any effort to determine if the property was being advertised for foreclosure. The property was subsequently foreclosed.

During the time Brenden represented the client, the client had difficulty contacting and communicating with him.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Brenden by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2013), Brenden practices at 124 North McDonough Street in Jonesborough, Georgia.

Respondent’s reinstatement is conditioned upon the completion of 12 hours of continuing legal education in the area of law office practice and management.
