Attorney Thomas Egan of Palm City, FL; ethical dwarf

The state of Connecticut provided Thomas J. Egan with a law license in 1983.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Thomas guilty of the following misconduct.

Thomas was hired by a client regarding a visitation matter. Thomas later filed a motion for joint custody and visitation. Subsequently, at a court hearing, an agreement was reached that was put on the record.

Thomas then advised his client that nothing more needed to be done. However, Tommy never filed a case management agreement with the court and failed to appear for a hearing when the case was scheduled for a case management report. Due to Tommy’s gross negligence, the client’s visitation matter was dismissed by the trial judge, which resulted in the ex-wife taking their child out of the state.

When the client attempted to file a motion for contempt as to the child being taken out of state, he then learned that his case had been dismissed and the visitation agreement had expired.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Thomas by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2013) Thomas practices at 4213 SW Gleneagles Circle in Palm City, Florida.
