Attorney Richard Bishop of Greenfield, MA; ethical dwarf

The state of Florida presented Richard Cox Bishop with a law license in 1977after he graduated from the University of Miami Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Richard guilty of the following misconduct.

Richard was hired by a married Massachusetts couple who had an estate plan for their three daughters that conveyed their home to the two able-bodied daughters, and reserved a life estate for themselves and a mentally disabled daughter.

Subsequently, the parents died, the mentally disabled daughter then admitted herself to a psychiatric ward, and Richard then began representing the able-bodied daughters, who sold the home without sharing the proceeds with the disabled daughter.

Therefore, Richard knowingly engaged in an egregious conflict of interest due to his dual representation of all three daughters at the same time.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits in Florida sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Richard by gifting him with a complimentary a complimentary 60-day suspension of her law license. .

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Richard practices in the Greenfield, Massachusetts area.
