Attorney Robert Obringer of Wilmington, DE; convicted crook

The state of Pennsylvania presented Robert H. Obringer with a law license in 1984

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.

Robert’s discipline was reciprocal in regards to the misconduct he was found guilty of in New Jersey.

In one matter, Robert was appointed to serve as a bankruptcy trustee for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy case. After the bankruptcy case was closed, Richard devised and carried out a scheme to steal $20,000 in unclaimed funds belonging to the bankruptcy estate.

Robert used the $20,000 to satisfy his personal obligations to the IRS and credit card companies. Richard subsequently pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud.

It must be comforting to the folks living in Wilmington to know that there is yet another convicted crook practicing law compliments of the comedians sitting on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Supreme Courts.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Robert practices with Phillips & Cohen Associates at 1002 Justison Street in Wilmington, Delaware.
