Attorney Lawrence McLaughlin of Athol, MA; repeat offender

The state of Massachusetts presented Lawrence P. McLaughlin with a law license in 1977

The Board of Bar Overseers found Lawrence guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Intentionally misused client funds
  2. Failed to maintain accurate check register for trust account
  3. Failed to open individual trust account for trust as required
  4. Failed to maintain copies of deposit tickets and checks
  5. Failed to reconcile his trust account every 60 days as required
  6. Commingled client funds with personal funds
  7. Faield to deposit client funds in interest bearing account as required
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Lawrence’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for failing to file a lawsuit on behalf of a client before the statute of limitations had expired.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Lawrence by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Lawrence practices with the McLaughlin Law Office at 193 Main Street in Athol, Massachusetts.
