Attorney Antoine Laurent of Slidell, LA; ethical misfit

The state of Louisiana presented Antoine Z. Laurent with a law license in 1977.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Antoine guilty of the following misconduct.

Antoine found it acceptable to routinely write checks on his client trust account to pay office bills, personal debts, advances to clients, and litigation expenses prior to the settlement of the cases.

Antoine’s pattern of misuse of his client trust account had been going on for a period of years.

In addition, Antoine refused to cooperate with disciplinary counsel investigators. Put simply, Antoine said, “Up Yours!”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Antoine by gifting him with a stayed 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Antoine practices at 2700 May Street in Slidell, Louisiana.
