Attorney James Wines of Ann Arbor; ethical dwarf

The state of Michigan provided James D. Wines with a law license in 1965 after he graduated form Michigan State University Law School.

A disciplinary hearing panel found James guilty of the following misconduct.

James deposited earned fees into his IOLTA trust account and made withdrawals from that account for his personal use that he absolutely knew was in violation of the disciplinary rules.

In addition, Jimmy also deposited his own funds into an IOLTA account in an amount more than necessary to pay the financial institution’s charges or fees, which he again knew was in violation of the disciplinary rules.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished James by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) James practices at 2254 Georgetown Blvd in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
