Attorney Mark Smith of Louisville; ethical gremlin

The state of Kentucky presented Mark Joseph Smith with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Louisville Law School.

The Kentucky Bar Association (KBA) found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to adequately communicate with client
  2. Failed to return client files to client after being discharged
  3. Abandoned client without advance notice
  4. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  5. Failed to inform client of status of divorce action
In one matter, Mark attempted to settle a potential malpractice claim against him without first advising the client (victim) to seek independent representation.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on Kentucky Supreme Court the punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 15-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Mark practices at 616 South 5th Street in Louisville, Kentucky.
