Attorney Timothy Dineen of Charlestown, MA; repeat offender

The state of Massachusetts presented Timothy P. Dineen with a law license in 1980.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Shawn guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Timothy represented the estate of an individual who died testate (dies leaving will). The decedent’s nephew was executor of the estate. The will made no specific bequests. There were six residuary beneficiaries, four individuals and two charities.

Eventually $257,000 in assets went to the residuary beneficiaries, $10,500 was paid to Timothy as fees, and the executor of the will received a fee of $8,500.

Shortly thereafter, the residuary beneficiaries filed an ethics complaint with Bar Counsel, seeking the final account from Timothy and the executor with an itemization of disbursements. Despite repeated inquiries from Bar Counsel and from the beneficiaries, Timothy did not file his first and final account until over four (4) years had passed.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Timothy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. The comedians sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers previously gifted Timothy with an admonition for neglecting another estate in which he had delayed five (5) years in preparing his first and final account.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Shawn by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. Juuly 2013) Timothy practices at 35 Essex Street in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Warning: Timothy does not carry legal malpractice insurance
