Today’s “Screwball”Award Winner
Lila Rose is the president of the anti-abortion group calling itself “Live Action.” In an ongoing effort to cement her status as a Certified Lunatic, Lila decided to comment on the case of Beatriz, the 22-year-old mother from El Salvador who was denied a life-saving abortion by the Supreme Court of El Salvador.
Lisa said the case of Beatriz has not convinced her that abortion should be allowed under any circumstances. Screwy Lila then said;
“Abortions are never medically necessary.”
“Some doctors prescribe abortion as if it’s a treatment for a disease or a problem, but that’s not a solution a truly compassionate and just society should turn to.”
Beatriz is a 22-year-old-mother with a 26-week fetus that is missing most of its brain. Beatriz was diagnosed with lupus and kidney failure, and her doctors determine early on that neither she nor the fetus were likely to survive childbirth.
The Screwball said that she doubts that Beatriz actually needs to end her pregnancy in order to live. “I don’t know what the doctors are advising here, but doctors have certainly been wrong,” the loon said.
As my now deceased father said many years ago when dealing with screwballs like Lila, “mind you own damn business.”
