Judge James Naranjo of Socorro, NM; ethical dwarf

The Judicial Standards Commission found Judge Naranjo guilty of the following misconduct.

Judge Naranjo found it acceptable conduct to for asking a District Court judge to reduce his stepson’s bond or let him out of jail. Put simply, Jimmy was trying to put the arm on the District Court judge to grant him a favor on behalf of his stepson.

In a lame attempt at levity, Judge Naranjo defended his conduct by claiming he intervened on his stepson’s behalf because his only intent was to assure the District Court judge that his stepson would appear at all scheduled hearings. Jimmy’s answer is pure BS!

It is apparent that Jimmy missed his calling as a standup comedian.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Judge Naranjo by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension from the bench.

As we speak (ca. June 2013), Judge Naranjo continues to sit on the Socorro County Magistrate Court.
