Today’s “Bullshit” Award Winner
Sen. Saxby succeeded in duping the voters in Georgia into electing him to the U.S. Senate in November 2002, and then re-electing him in 2008. Luckily for the folks in Georgia and the rest of the country, Saxby announced that he won’t run for reelection in 2014. Saxby is yet another member of congress that is an attorney, which leads one to believe that when his lips are moving he ain’t telling the truth.
During President Obama’s speech on May 23, 2013 at the National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C., he again called for action to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
After hearing that Obama wanted to close Guantanamo, Saxby decided to spew forth his usual dose of moronic hyperbole (BS) in opposition by saying:
“…a bad idea that would not work”
“…the increased threat from al Qaeda and its affiliates, including in Yemen, GITMO must stay open for business”
Of course only a Moronic Bullshitter like Saxby would claim that it is necessary to keep Guantanamo open to defeat al Qaeda and its affiliated organizations.
Such an asinine comment is analogous to arguing that closing the death house at San Quentin and returning it to Folsom Prison would significantly increase the murder rate in California.
Congrats Saxby; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Most Disrespected “Bullshitter”; you are far too humble.
