Gov. Paul LePage (R-ME): Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Gov. Paul LePage (R-ME)
Today’s MoronAward Winner

Paul succeeded in duping the voters in Maine into electing as their Governor in November 2010. Paul has indicated that he intends to try and dupe the voters again in 2014 by running for reelection.

There is no dispute that Paul has total contempt for workers in Maine who collect or apply for unemployment benefits.

The Maine Sun Journal recently reported that Paulie bullied state workers to resolve unemployment claim disputes in favor of businesses. The Sun Journal said Paulie called a mandatory meeting on March 21, 2013 with more than a dozen state Dept of Labor employees. He allegedly scolded the hearing officers and their supervisors, complaining that they too often decided against businesses that challenge laid-off workers’ unemployment claims.

Dept of Labor employees who spoke with the Sun Journal and attended the meeting said they felt “abused, harassed and bullied” by LePage. They said they felt they would lose their jobs if they didn’t “skew the outcomes of their appeals cases in favor employers” rather than decide cases on their merits.

Paulie is another right-wing, Moronic Hypocrite who claims to be a fiscal conservative that is interested in rooting out corruption and waste in state government. However, when it comes to providing state-funded jobs to family members, Paulie is a full-throated supporter of “Nepotism.”

One of Paulie’s first actions as Governor was to appoint his 22-year-old daughter as assistant to his chief of staff with a salary of $41,000 and employee benefits worth an additional $15,000. Because she resides in the governor’s mansion with Daddy, she also receives a housing benefit of $10,000 a year.

Later on, Paulie hired his brother-in-law, Jody Ledoux, as director of administrative services for the State Planning Office with an annual salary of $68,577 plus $15,000 in benefits.

One can only assume that Paulie’s hatred for employees collecting unemployment compensation will take a 180 degree turn if his daughter or brother-in-law is laid off.

Congrats Paulie; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Most Disrespected “Morons”; you are far too humble.
