Attorney Robert Peters, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL; ethical elf

The state of Florida presented Robert Louis Peters, Jr. with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Florida State University Law College.

The Florida Bar found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, purchased a 1/3rd interest in a parcel of real estate from Ms. Deloach’s cousin, James Whittemore, III through his corporation, Desalvo Properties, LLC. The property was adjacent to the property on which Peters’ title company was located.

A mobile home owned by Ms. Deloach was on the property and appeared to be abandoned. Subsequently, Robert paid an individual $800 to haul the mobile home to the county dump.

Subsequently, Mr. Whittemore executed a Warranty Deed that was prepared by Robert’s office, which appeared to transfer to Robert’s company, Desalvo Properties, a 100% interest in the property, when in fact, Whittemore held only a 1/3rd interest in the property, a fact well known to Robert.

Despite knowing that Whittemore was a 1/3rd owner of the property, Robert executed an LLC Resolution to Encumber the property and on the same day secured a mortgage on the property from Tifton Banking Company for $73,700.

In another matter, Robert admitted to sending three letters to clients and associates of Mr. Jacobs wherein he made disparaging remarks about Jacobs. The letters were sent either anonymously by Robert or were signed by him using fictitious names.

Mr. Jacobs was Roberts’ former employer and law partner. It was only after he was caught that Robert the Coward admitted to sending the letters to Mr. Jacobs.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Robert practices at 28th South 10th Street in Fernandina, Florida.
