Attorney Sean Conway of Hollywood, FL; ethical misfit

The state of Florida presented Sean William Conway with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from Florida State University Law College.

The Florida Bar found Sean guilty of the following misconduct.

The Bar claimed that Sean made derogatory remarks about Judge Cheryl Aleman who sat on the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida. Sean posted an entry on a website entitled “Judge Aleman’s New (illegal) One-week to prepare policy.”

In his public internet posting, Sean made the following remarks about Judge Aleman.
  • Judge Aleman is an “EVIL UNFAIR WITCH” or “EUW”
  • Judge Aleman was “seemingly mentally ill”
  • Judge Aleman had an “ugly, condescending attitude” (Don’t most of them?)
  • “She is clearly unfit for her position and knows not what it means to be a neutral arbiter”
  • “There’s nothing honorable about that malcontent”
The Bar ruled that Sean’s comments were false or posted with reckless disregard as to their truth or falsity. In a lame effort at levity, the Bar laughingly claimed that Sean’s statements unfairly undermined public confidence in the administration of justice. What confidence are these comedians alluding too?

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Sean by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Sean practices at 2131 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, Florida.
