Attorney George Cholakis of Miami; drunken felon

The state of Florida presented George D. Cholakis with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from St. Thomas University Law College.

The Florida Bar found George guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, George drove his vehicle and had an accident which caused serious bodily injury to two riders of a scooter. After being approached by a law enforcement officer, George was arrested and charged with two counts of DUI Serious Bodily Injury.

Subsequently, George pleaded guilty to two felony counts of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury. The trial court withheld adjudication and placed respondent on probation for a period of 4 years. He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $71,600.87.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Richard by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) George practices with The Law Office of George D. Cholakis, PA at 2250 SW 3rd Avenue in Miami, Florida.
