Attorney Paul Buhl of Haddam, CT; ethical elf

The state of Connecticut provided Paul D. Buhl with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School. Paul also received a law license from the State of Illinois in 1985.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Marie guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to respond to repeated calls from clients
  2. Failed to provide promised services to client
  3. Failed to respond to grievance committee requests (Up Yours, said Paul!)
  4. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  5. In one matter, Paul represented a husband and wife in the defense of a civil matter involving the sale of real estate.
After a jury trial was held, a verdict was entered against Paul’s clients and in favor of the plaint for $20,000. Shortly thereafter, Paul filed an appeal, but he eventually decided not to pursue it. The clients then asked Paul to pursue settling the matter by seeking a compromise on the $20,000 judgment.

Paul failed to follow through on seeking a compromise on the judgment, and failed to return numerous calls from his clients.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Paul by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Paul practices at 49 Main Street in Middletown, Connecticut.
