Attorney J. Timothy Nealon of Hopkinton, MA; repeat offender
The state of Massachusetts presented J. Timothy Nealon with a law license in 1979.
The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers found Timothy guilty of the following misconduct.
Nealon was haired to represent a client in a pending civil case against the client’s two sisters. Prior to Nealon’s appearance in the case, the court had entered an order of default against the first sister for failure to answer the complaint. The court ordered that any damages assessed against the first sister would be addressed when the case was disposed of.
The client then agreed to dismiss his claims against the second sister and reported the dismissal to the court. Subsequently, the client’s claims against the second sister were dismissed by the trial judge as a result of Nealon’s gross negligence and incompetence.
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Nealon’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree as set forth below.
No. 1 – Received complimentary admonition for neglect of an estate matter, and for failing to cooperate with the ethics investigators
No. 2 – Received complimentary informal admonition for neglecting a land court matter
No. 3 – Received complimentary reprimand for neglecting an estate matter and a civil case
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Timothy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. May 2013) Timothy practices with Nealon & Nealon at 87 Elm Street in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
