Attorney Rosemary Macero of Cambridge, MA; lying Dumbo

The state of Massachusetts presented Rosemary A. Macero with a law license in 1985.

The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers found Rosemary guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Knowingly offered false evidence
  2. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  3. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  4. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
In one matter, while representing a client in the filing of an appeal, Rosemary failed to submit the filing fee along with the notice of appeal as required. The Court of Appeals notified her that the appeal was untimely filed and would be dismissed unless she cured her errors.

Rosemary then backdated the check for the appellate docking fee. She knowingly lied that the post office was to blame for the late payment of the fee. When the court found that excuse to be patently false, Rosemary doubled down on her fabrication and lies by falsely claiming that it was an innocent result of her ignorance of the facts and her admitted alterations of the cover letter to the Court of Appeals.

The Board ruled that Rosemary lacked candor while testifying at the disciplinary hearing. Two members of the Commission found that Rosemary had offered intentionally false testimony (perjured herself).

Because Attorney Misfits in Massachusetts are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Rosemary was never criminally charged with perjury, obstruction of justice or fraud.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Rosemary by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Rosemary practices at 47 Thorndike Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
