Attorney Henry Portner of Wellington, FL; ethical goblin 
The state of Florida presented Henry Neil Portner with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Temple University of Law School.
The Florida State Bar found Henry guilty of the following misconduct.
Henry disseminated a direct mail advertisement for foreclosure defense and loan modification representation on various occasions.
The advertisement stated on the return address “Our Final Notice” and “Re: JP Morgan Chase Bank.” On the upper right-hand side of the letter a printed box contained the following information:
Under this information in white letters against a black background running the entire width of the page are the words “Loan Modification Notice.”
The body of Henry’s advertisement further stated: “You currently have a mortgage with JP Morgan Chase….Our records indicate that you have not take advantage of the opportunity to modify the terms of your existing mortgage. JP Morgan Chase may be willing to negotiate a reduction of principal and interest. Loan Assistance of America Law Firm, PA is a law firm which provides assistance and legal counsel in this area.”
The statements in Henry’s sham advertisement were misleading as the letters is an advertisement for legal services not a “final notice” to a borrower regarding a mortgage. Henry’s letter was also not from the “legal department” of any institution and the recipients were not selected by a lender.
Henry’s letter also failed to disclose how he obtained the intended recipient’s name and address and fails to disclose Henry’s name as the lawyer responsible for the content of the advertisement.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Henry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
