Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX): Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX)
Today’s Rodney DangerfieldAward Winner

Over the past twenty-two (22) years, John has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough, 10 years as Texas officeholder and 11 years as a U.S. Senator.

John is yet another of the aspiring comedians sitting in the U.S. Senate that are attorneys.

After the Senate defeated the vote to expand background checks for gun purchases, President Obama went on the air and chided the naysayers for ignoring the will of 90% of the electorate.

Johnny then decided it was time to done the pair of industrial strength knee pads that Wayne LaPierre of the NRA had provided to him and feign outrage at Obama’s comments that Republicans were intimidated by the gun lobby.

John the Comic responded by saying the following with a straight face:

“I say this more with sadness than anger. I watched the watched the President of the United States say it was a pretty shameful day for Washington on the national news.”

“The president could have taken the high road. Instead he chose to take the low road, and I agree with him – it was truly a shameful day.”
This is the same John Cornyn that expressed no shame in using campaign contributions while Attorney General of Texas to purchase a $7,727 gift at Tiffany’s in Dallas for an undisclosed person. For more information regard Johnny’s largess go the URL listed at the end of this article.

Hopefully, Wayne LaPierre has gifted Johnny for his hyperbolic (BS) comments as aforementioned.

Congrats Johnny; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Least Appreciated “Standup Comedians”; you are far too humble.
