Attorney Burton Bentley of Phoenix; ethical dwarf

The state of Arizona presented Burton M. Bentley with a law license in 1956. Burton is also licensed to practice in California.

The Arizona State Bar found Burton guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Robert accepted simultaneous employment from two parties having adverse interests. Robert represented one party against a second party in an action for a debt. Subsequently Robert sued the second party on behalf of the first, on the original debt.

Subsequently, the trial court ruled that Robert’s actions gave not only an appearance of impropriety, but created a conflict of interest that could not be waived.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Burton by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. April 2013) Burton practices with The Bentley Law Firm, PC at 5333 North 7th Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
