Attorney Dan Cooper of Tucson; scamming liar  
The state of Arizona presented Dan H. Cooper with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.
The Arizona State Bar found Dan guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Dan represented a client charged with two counts of first degree murder. Dan informed the client that his only real change in preventing a guilty verdict and probably a death sentence lay in a finding by an appellate court of fundamental error in the then prospective trial court proceedings. Thus, Dan counseled his client to proceed pro se (self-representation) in order to maximize the change of a subsequent finding of fundamental error.
In following Dan’s advice, the client supported Dan’s motion to withdraw. After the trial judge to grant Dan’s motion to withdraw, Dan told his client that were the client to threaten Dan with physical harm, the trial judge would allow Dan to withdraw from the case, and the client could then go forward prose on the basis of that advice. The client then told Dan to consider himself threatened.
Dan then filed a second motion to withdraw, which was referred by the trial judge to the presiding judge who was told by Dan that his client had threatened him. The judge then allowed Danny the Liar to withdraw.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Dan by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
As we speak (ca. April 2013) Dan practices with Cooper & Udall at 136 West Simpson Street in Tucson, Arizona.
