Attorney William Clemmens of Miami, AZ; repeat offender

The state of Arizona presented William M. Clemmens with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found William guilty of the following misconduct.

William’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  1. Failed to communicate with clients
  2. Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
  3. Failed to carry out contracts of employment
  4. Failed to adequately respond to Bar inquires (Up Yours, said Billy!)
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished William by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

In accordance with a document that he drafted, William subleased his client’s vehicle. The terms of the sublease did not fully protect the client's interests. The terms did not provide the client with any remedies in case William defaulted on the lease. It also did not specify under what circumstances the client could terminate the sublease, or provide for the assessment of any late payment penalties.

William never advised his client to consult with an independent attorney before entering into the agreement. Thereafter, William failed to make timely payments. When the client moved from Phoenix, William agreed to assume the primary lease but failed to do so.

While William had the vehicle, it was damaged significantly. Contrary to his agreement with the client, William had canceled insurance on the car. The client was required to pay $3,087,96 for various repairs and delinquent lease payments.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished William by gifting him with a second (2nd)complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) William practices at 1300 West Laurel Street in Miami, Arizona.

Warning: William doesn’t carry legal malpractice insurance
