Attorney Steven Ockrassa of Phoenix; repeat offender

The state of Arizona presented Steven Ockrassa with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Steven guilty of the following misconduct.

Steven’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Steve was hired to represent the plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit that had already been filed and proceed to represent them for over a year, at which time he abruptly announced to his clients that he had a conflict and withdrew.

Steven had gone into business with partners of the defendants; however, he waited several months before he had the courtesy to inform his clients about this blatant conflict of interest.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders ofMisfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Steven by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As a Deputy County Attorney in Mohave County, Steven prosecuted a Mr. Otto for DUI as a third offense within 60 months.

As a contract public defender, Thomas had defended Mr. Otto on 3 prior DUI’s. IN the case Steven was prosecuting, Mr. Otto was asserting the invalidity and insufficiency of two of the prior DUI convictions. Despite requests, Steven refused to withdraw as the prosecutor.

The court found a substantial relationship between the prior representation and the prosecution issue. The court also noted that prior ethics opinions and court decisions should have put Steven on notice that his conduct was improper.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Steven by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Steven is employed by the State of Arizona at 1951 West Camelback Road in Phoenix, Arizona.
