Attorney James Stephens of El Cajon, CA; convicted loser

The state of California provided James Wade Stephens with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara Law School.

The State Bar Court found James guilty of the following misconduct.

James was convicted of three criminal matters. He pleaded guilty in Arizona to felony possession of drug paraphernalia and in California to unlawfully fighting in public and trespass, both misdemeanors.

In the Arizona case, was pulled over by border agents in Yuma County, yelled at the agents and claimed he had a medical marijuana card from California. A female passenger in his car claimed Stephens had hit her and she feared for her life.

The fighting conviction was the result of yelling at people and throwing hot coffee and yelling derogatory terms at an individual who had a restraining order against him. The trespass conviction was the result of breaking into his ex-wife’s home.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished James by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) James practices at 3550 Ruffin Road in El Cajon, California, which is in the San Diego area.
