Attorney Ronald White of Carson, CA; ethical leprechaun
The state of California provided Ronald White with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of California Hastings Law College in San Francisco.
The State Bar Court found Ronald guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Ronald represented a client in a criminal trial who asked for his file, twice, in order to pursue a habeas corpus petition.
Ronnie had the chutzpah to tell bar investigators he hadn’t received the letters; however, the investigator provided the letters and proofs of service.
Ronnie still refused to return the file to the client, even after a phone call from the client. After the State Bar intervened, Ronnie released the file, 18 months after the original request.
In another matter, Ronnie did not file the opening brief in a criminal appeal and the court issued a notice of default. He didn’t inform the client, the default was set aside and he filed the opening brief. The client’s sentence was modified, but White did not tell him. He did not respond to a request for the file, but gave it to the client’s mother six months later.
And lastly, Ronnie did not respond to a bar investigator. In truth, Ronnie said, Up Yours!.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Ronald by gifting him with a complimentary 90-daysuspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. June 2013) Ronald practices with 17625 South Central Avenue in Carson, California, which is in the Los Angeles area.
