Attorney Alan Sternberg of Orinda, CA; unethical bully

 
The state of California provided Alan J. Sternberg with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the University of Michigan Law College.
 
The State Bar Court found Alan guilty of the following misconduct.
 
In one matter, Alan threatened to bring an administrative action an individual who did not sign a letter Sternberg had drafted for his client. The letter, written in English, was directed to an individual who spoke little English and refused to sign it. Sternberg left four voicemails and threatened to turn the man in to immigration authorities if he didn’t sign the letter.
 
Alan said, "Our people are really ticked off with you; Don't play with me; you don't want me on your case;" and "You are going to be out on your ear, back to Mexico, or wherever you came from."
 
In the last voicemail, Sternberg said, “I am sending a letter and a phone call to the head of the ICE group in Contra Costa County, part of the INS and homeland security. You’re in big trouble, buddy. You don’t play with me, I told you not to mess with me . . . You’re jerking around with the wrong person.”
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians
 
As we speak (ca. May 2013) Alan practices with the Law Office of Alan J. Sternberg in Orinda, California, which is in Contra Costa County.
