Judge Biagio DiStefano of Wampsville, NY; lifetime porker, loser

The state of New York presented Biagio Joseph DiStefano with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Puget Sound University Law School in Tacoma, Washington.

Judge DiStefano has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough from 1978 through 2013 (35 years). The government jobs held by DiStefano are as follows:
  • 1978-1985 – Assistant District Attorney
  • 1985-1997 – Family Court Hearing Examiner
  • 1997-2013 – Madison County Judge
Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Syracuse area was about to offer Biagio DiStefano a good paying job.

Since late last year (2012), all criminal cases assigned to Judge DiStefano had to be rescheduled after being assign to Judge Dennis McDermott.

Judge Robert Mulvey, Sixth Judicial District Administrative Judge previously issued an order prohibiting DiStefano from presiding over any more criminal cases. Judge Mulvey would not comment on the specific reason for his order, but one must assume it has something to do with allegations of misconduct involving DiStefano.

When asked by the press to comment on Judge Mulvey’s order, DiStefano invoked his 5th Amendment right to remain silent.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Judge DiStefano remains sitting as a Madison County Judge in Wampsville, New York, which is about 35 miles east of Syracuse.
