Attorney Reid James of Gastonia, NC; ethical misfit The state of North Carolina presented Reid C. James with a law license in 1982.
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Reid with the following misconduct
Over the period of at least four years, Reid maintained an attorney trust account at Wachovia Bank. Contrary to the rules, Reid failed perform quarterly or monthly reconciliations of the Wachovia account.
Reid also failed to maintain proper client ledgers which accurately traced the deposit and withdrawals of client funds from the Wachovia account. On one occasions Reid wrote a check against insufficient funds (rubber).

All that’s left now is for the North Carolina Supreme Court to determine the punishment that Reid will receive for his egregious misconduct
