The state of North Carolina presented Melissa Goldsmith with a law license in 2004.
 
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Jason with the following misconduct
  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  3. Failed to promptly disburse entrusted funds to client and/or third parties
  4. Failed to safeguard client and/or third party funds
  5. Used entrusted funds for her own personal use
  6. Failed to cooperate with State Bar investigators (Up Yours, said Melissa!)
  7. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
As part of her law practice, Melissa acted as closing attorney in real estate transactions. Melissa failed to timely complete final opinions and submit title insurance premiums in at least twenty-eight (28) transactions.
 
All that’s left now is for the North Carolina Supreme Court to determine the punishment that Melissa will receive for his egregious misconduct
 
As we speak (ca. March 2013) Melissa continues to practice in the Hendersonville, North Carolina area.
