Gov. Dennis Daugaard (R-SD): Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

Dennis Daugaard succeeded in duping the voters in South Dakota to elect him as their governor in 2010.

Recently, Screwy Dennis signed House Bill 1097 into law, which was sponsored by fellow Screwballs, Rep. Scott Craig (R-Rapid City) and Rep. Betty Olson (R- Prairie City), which allows teachers to carry loaded weapons in schools.

Dennis and those of his ilk actually believe that had the teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School been armed, that the carnage would have not taken place or would have been minimal. Of course if the children had all been armed, there may not have been any casualties, right?

As the father of three girls, I can assure you that I would refuse to send them to any school where teachers were allowed to carry loaded weapons.

This asinine legislation presumes that school teachers are the only class of American’s that aren’t subject to going ballistic (postal) due to family problems, etc.

What’s next for the buffoons (my apologies to buffoons), will they pass legislation mandating that all bartenders carry assault weapons. That would likely be a boon to the bar business, right?

Congrats Dennis; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Premier Screwballs; you are far too humble.
